Solvay Lifelong Learning (SLL) is a member of the CyberHubs project, which aims to tackle the shortage of cybersecurity professionals in Europe by developing an efficient and collaborative European network of multi-stakeholder cybersecurity skills incubators. Ataya & Partners plays a significant role in this initiative.
Overview of the CyberHubs Project
The European Network of Cybersecurity Skills Hubs (CyberHubs) is a 3-year initiative that brings together stakeholders to enhance the cybersecurity professional skills ecosystem in Europe. The CyberHubs project will establish a sustainable network of seven Cybersecurity Skills Hubs located in Belgium, Estonia, Greece, Hungary, Lithuania, Slovenia, and Spain.
Professor Georges Ataya, Academic Director of the Executive Master in Cybersecurity Management at Solvay Lifelong Learning, and Ataya & Partners, manage a team of researchers and students involved in the project on behalf of SLL.
Belgian Contribution to the CyberHubs Project
The Belgian part of the CyberHubs project is led by Agoria. In addition to Solvay Lifelong Learning (SLL), Howest University of Applied Sciences (Belgium) is the third member of the Belgian team. The project supports the development of skills, promotes innovation, and facilitates the matching of skills with job and learning opportunities in the cybersecurity field.
Funding and Future Directions
Funded by the European Commission under the Erasmus+ programme and led by DIGITALEUROPE, the CyberHubs consortium involves 21 full partners spanning 11 European Member States, as well as 3 associated partners. The project brings together industry leaders, experts, researchers, and policymakers to increase the number of cybersecurity professionals and address other emerging challenges in the field.
An initial document has been produced by the SLL team, with support from Ataya & Partners, and is currently under review by Agoria and the "Cybersecurity Made in Belgium" task force. This study documented the demands and offers of cybersecurity skills in the Belgian market. A first draft is expected to be available in October 2024.
